Environmental Site Assessments
Stage 1, 2 and 3 environmental site assessments are required when property is being transferred from one person to another. Make sure the property that you are purchasing is free of environmental contaminants |

For the Buyer
Purchasers of real property need to know whether or not the property the he or she is purchasing is free of environmental contaminants that could be extremely expensive to remove. Examples include:
¨ underground storage tanks (UST)
¨ petroleum wastes
¨ asbestos
¨ lead
¨ polychlorinated byphenols (PCB’s)

The Law
BC Environment Lands & Parks require that contaminated sites be identified and that when identified the contamination be remediated in accordance with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal environmental legislation

Asbestos - Demo
Are you demolishing an existing house? Do you know that in order to comply with WCB regulations in certain communities you must conduct a hazardous material assessment prior to any demolition? Aztech Environmental can provide an onsite hazardous material assessment to sample for asbestos, lead, other heavy metal or toxic, flammable, or explosive materials that may be handled, disturbed, or removed. Ensure you are in compliance with section 20.112, construction, excavation and demolition requirements of WCB occupational health and safety regulations.
