'Grow Op' Remediation

We've all read in the papers and most recently heard on the news 'Grow Op's' continue to be a thriving business and a continued headache for homeowners who discover that their premises have been rented out for such purposes. The damage that is caused structurally to a home can be devestating as a result of the very nature of the conditions necessary to maintain a successful 'grow op'.

To the naked eye once the unwelcome tenants have vacated, it can appear that the home has been cleaned up to one's satisfaction. The concern lies with the unseen contaminants caused by mould growth and the water and chemicals that are used in such operations.

Aztech employs a division of mould abatement/remediation services. Our workers are versed in aspects of mould abatement/remediation procedures and protocol. Should the need arise to remediate any mould related issues Aztech can provide those services.

Worker Exposure

Aztech Environmental provides education and worker training for mould exposure.

As per section 1.03 & 1.04 of the project specifications & Section 5.53 & 5.54 of the "Occupational Health & Safety Regulations" - it is important to have operating procedure that will protect the health and safety of workers that may be exposed to possible fungal contamination. The demolition work can also expose the buildings occupants to the same hazards as the workers."

Worker training to address employee concerns regarding exposure to mould and review of the operating procedure required during mould abatement is available.

Interior Mould

Workers could be exposed during interior remediation as well as exterior building envelope related remediation.

White Mould

Workers must be aware of the hazards of building envelope substrates such as wood and osb board with heavy moisture content as they support the growth of a variety of different types of mould including this white mould which is a species of Penicillium.
